My friend Jennifer's dad gave her a pair of his castoff jeans a couple of years back. He's a neat and tidy guy so he only used them for doing yard work, since they're faded and had holes in them. Jennifer used them to try her hand at sashiko style mending, then gave them to me since I love a pair of well loved jeans. They were way too big for me, however. Her dad is over six feet tall, and let's just say that I'm not. So I decided to use the top of the jeans as a base for a skirt, which I plan to gift to Jennifer's sister, Paula. Watch this space for an update! I am having gallbladder surgery this week and will be using my subsequent downtime to work on a sewing project or two. I'll make sure to get pictures of Paula in my creation soon.
