Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

I Wish You Could Smell This Photo

It's springtime, which means the lilac are in bloom. For some reason lilac grows very well here, and many homes in the older parts of our city have giant hedges like this one that borders the parking lot of the Greek church in the Patty Jewett neighborhood, currently profusely in flower. The scent was heavenly.

I know it perfectly well. We call this month Sköna maj. May the beautiful.

I haven't seen or smelled a lilac in years. Even in central Texas, they would have good years sometimes....I really think the weather has changed over the last 30 years. Or perhaps people don't plant the old fashioned hedges, shrubs anymore. Mock orange is another fragrance I remember. Lucky you!!
