I really wanted to try and blog every single day in 2026, as much as possible, anyway, and yet I've already missed a day. I had a good reason for not posting anything yesterday, though: last month a molar at the very back of my mouth cracked beyond repair or redemption, and unfortunately it had to come out. So yesterday was spent at the oral surgeon having a tooth extracted, and I was in no mood to blog anything after that. Thank goodness for modern dentistry -- it'll be replaced by an implant in due course, and no one will be the wiser.
At any rate, no, this is not what sunk the Titanic, it's an iceberg shaped little snowdrift on the patio table in our backyard. After weeks of unnaturally warm weather (I'm talking 55° to 70° F almost daily), Mother Nature finally dumped a bunch of white stuff on us last night. Reportedly it was 9", but I think it was more like 7"-8" at our house. I'm happy to see it! Unfortunately the weirdly warm temperatures are supposed to return next week. It's January, for piss sakes. It's supposed to be cold! Frankly it's unnerving to be wearing t-shirts in the dead of winter. We should be bundled up in coats and sweaters! None of our lakes or ponds have even had a chance to freeze over. It's crazy. I really hope that after the next warm spell winter comes back and stays for a while, and soon.

It's funny, I began blogging here in 2009 and we had quite the following, and most of us wrote a blog every day. Or at least far more than we do today. Life gets busy I know but the idea makes sense and getting to know our fellow bloggers here and learn new things that we had no idea existed in places until shared here. Some of my old bloggers still post a short paragraph or so explaining the photo and I don't read them every single day, but I'll read several in a row when I post and it's enjoyable! Love seeing other cities and she in particular lives in Canada, it's perfect.
@21Wits I try to regularly read as many of the CDP blogs as I can, I've made some great virtual friends over the years just by being part of this wonderful little community! I've visited your blog often although I'm bad about commenting. :) I think I'll go right now and see what you've posted lately and let you know I stopped by!
