Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

The Sheepherder

Fifteen years ago the Broadmoor was sold to a billionaire named Philip Anschutz, and it hasn't been the same since. It just lost some of its magic. He also bought out the local newspaper around the same time and somehow managed to make the Gazette even more conservative-leaning than it already was, which is some feat. I really miss the days before that guy became a household name around here. When it comes to Mr. Anschutz, let me just say that I have some opinions. I will give him, however, that he has augmented the Broadmoor's art collection with some very nice pieces, mostly 20th century paintings depicting the American West, like this lovely one by Thomas Hart Benton. It's just gorgeous.
