Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

Then and Now: The Downtown Post Office

Behold the US Post Office and Federal Courthouse-Colorado Springs Main, located on the southeast corner of Pikes Peak and Nevada avenues. Construction on this stately Beaux-Arts style building was completed in 1910. The photo above was taken today and the one below was taken in 1915, 111 years ago. I did my best to duplicate the camera angle and cropping of the original. As you can see, not much has changed.

You are right it looks pretty much the same, with of course the surrounding area quite different, and I wonder are those streetcar tracks in the old days?

@21Wits I have heard that at least some of our old streetcar tracks were simply paved over, so maybe they're still there!
