Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

Small Business Saturday in downtown Colorado Springs

Yesterday was Small Business Saturday! I hope you found the time to visit some locally owned businesses to do some holiday shopping or dining. Big box stores are convenient, sure, but it's the mom 'n pop shops that are truly the backbone of every community. It pays to spend your money locally! As for Colorado Springs, our downtown had a busy day for certain. Many, many people were out and about, shopping, strolling, dining, and enjoying the seasonal ice skating rink in Acacia Park. I went out with my camera and took a few snaps for you.

The seasonal skating rink in Acacia Park will be up and running through January 5th. Here's more info (and a schedule): http://downtown80903.com/experience-downtown/event-calendar/skate-at-the-park.html

It was a gorgeous day to go and hang out downtown.

These friendly folks were in Acacia Park representing the Downtown Partnership and handing out free shopping bags, maps of all the shops, skating schedules, and coupon books.

Santa and Mrs. Claus strolled around, greeting everyone.

There will be live music almost daily in Acacia Park for the entire holiday season, not to mention tons of special events. (For a schedule, click HERE.) Yesterday's band was Andy Clifton & Company. They sounded great! I loved the guy in the foreground, dancing with such exhuberance.

Even if you didn't make it to any small, locally owned businesses yesterday, there is still plenty of time before Christmas is upon us! To learn more about how shopping locally is best for the economy, click HERE.

Terrific shots!

We've got an outdoor rink set up already at our city hall, and in a few weeks, the Rideau Canal will be set for skaters...
