This photo was meant for Skywatch Friday yesterday, but I didn't get around to posting it. This is our main post office downtown, at 201 E. Pikes Peak Avenue. It's an imposing building, constructed in the Beaux Arts style between 1908 and 1910 on land donated by Winfield Stratton, an early Colorado Springs philanthropist, and dedicated to him. It's also listed on the National Historic Register, and though it's old, it functions as one of the busiest post offices in town.

And on a completely different note: today is Small Business Saturday. So all you holiday shoppers, don't forget to stop by your favorite locally owned shops and support the little guy!
