Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

I will never get it

This beast of a truck has been parked near my studio almost every day lately. It's absolutely enormous. I think it belongs to one of the guys that work in the establishment next door. Sigh. I will never understand why anyone would want a vehicle like this. It's just so.... obnoxious. Truly, it boggles the mind. But I won't bore you by repeating myself -- you can read my feelings about ridiculously macho-fied trucks in THIS post from July of 2009.

I agree.

Pickup trucks have their uses and for decades all the work of pickups was done by 1/2 ton, two wheel drive trucks.

I'll bet the headlights on this truck are higher than they'd be on a Kenworth. With the tires extending past the fenders you don't want to be anywhere near this truck on a wet road, it would send spray all over.

In short, it's inconsiderate to drive a truck like this.

That's funny Tamera, because I always say the same thing when I see one of these monsters!

Totally agree with you Wayne! And Lois, you know where I'm coming from :) Let's not even start on the carbon footprint thing. OMG I can't even imagine the mileage.

I think it's an ego thing or maybe he just wants people to be aware of him coming down the road so they won't hit him. Who knows.
