Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

June Theme Day: the Beauty of Decay

It's the first of the month, which means Theme Day for City Daily Photo bloggers! June 2013's theme is the beauty of decay.  This is timely, because about three weeks ago Pat and I took a little road trip to Colorado's eastern plains, in search of ghost towns.  This photo was taken in tiny Chivington, Colorado, which is basically a collection of ramshackle abandoned buildings and a dirt road. I believe there must be at least one resident though, because after about half an hour of exploring and picture-taking, we were interrupted by a young deputy sheriff who politely asked us to leave.  Apparently the lone resident of Chivington had spied us and called the fuzz!  I did get some great pictures before we were chased off, and I'll post a few here on the blog over the next few days.

Funny story! It also happened here a couple of time when I was taking pictures in the suburbs: Now I stick to more populated areas of my town...

I love it in black & white! These ghost towns are amazing, though a shame you were called out by the 'picture police'!
