Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

Watch your step, it's a long way down

Here's a head scratcher.  I took this picture last month when I was at a wedding rehearsal at the Wyndham Mining Exchange in downtown Colorado Springs. The Mining Exchange was once the epicenter of the American West's economy (just as powerful as the New York Stock Exchange is now), and after its tenure as an economic nerve center, it went on to become a bank, law offices, and so on until its current incarnation as an upscale hotel.  It's been years since I've been in there -- at the time it was offices for lawyers and other professionals. It was always an interesting rabbit's warren of endless hallways and rooms upon rooms upon rooms, and to me it was a confusing maze.  It's now been completely refurbished and renewed.  But I couldn't help but notice these strange, weathered old doorways leading to nowhere.  Heaven help the person who takes a wrong turn! (Just kidding. Without a doubt, these strange old doors are both inaccessible and sealed tightly shut!)

Haha. Great feature and wonderfully weathered.

I agree with Barbara. Good thing there is not a drinking establishment up there.
