Pat and I spent last week in southern California, visiting our good friends Janet and Ethan. It was a great time! We try to visit them at least every other year (although I made a solo trip there last September), and usually we don't do a lot of sightseeing. But this time we crammed quite a bit of "touristing" into our visit, and it was a lot of fun, actually. Here's a shot from the first evening of our vacation, taken from the San Clemente Pier. There were some nice waves and quite a few surfers about. This guy was pretty good.
