A bucolic summertime scene
Doesn't this picture just make you sigh happily? Do you want to sit on the banks of this pretty little stream and watch the water ripple past? It's actually Monument Creek, which runs past our downtown, several miles to the south of where this picture was taken last Thursday. I was doing some engagement portraits here for a couple who are getting married in a few weeks; Monument Creek is located only a few yards from the bride's mother's home. She lives in a neighborhood that's in Colorado Springs but not officially part of the city. It's a well kept secret. I did a little research and learned that this quiet little paradise was formerly a tiny frontier town. More on that tomorrow!
