The Olin Hall of Science at the Colorado College
The imposing wall that fronts the Nevada Avenue-facing side of the Olin Hall of Science. I like its Midcentury Modern lines, but it sure stands out like a sore thumb against the Romanesque Gothic architecture of Shove Chapel next door. There is such a hodgepodge of architectural styles on that campus, and it seems they're always building. Unfortunately, they sometimes tear things down to build anew, and that includes some pretty cool old buildings getting the heave ho over the years. The Olin Hall of Science fairly screams 1962, the year it was finished. I wonder what beautiful old building once stood in its spot.

We see the same on our campuses here; some new buildings by architects who fancied being experimental really stand out like a sore thumb compared to older buildings.
Interesting wall.
