Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

Practice makes perfect

A few days ago, Pat and I were running some errands on Academy Boulevard when we noticed a large plane moving slowly and circling very low in the sky above us. It was a little unnerving! The plane continued to circle around then apparently landed at Peterson Air Force Base, only to take off again and do the same thing (or perhaps it was a second plane that took off once the first one landed). Pat identified it as a C-130, a large cargo plane. He said that they are sometimes used to battle wildfires, and together we determined that the pilot(s) must have been doing practice take-offs, landings and low altitude flyovers. When we got to our destination I waited, camera in hand, for the plane to make another pass while Pat picked up a prescription. I can't believe how low it was flying. Very skilled piloting!
