Old Man Winter has arrived
I took this picture last Tuesday, November 4th, at about 10:30 in the morning. It was beautiful out, just like almost every day we've seen this fall: warm and golden and sunny, a little chilly at night. This is the mildest autumn I've ever experienced and I've savored every minute of it. But all of that changed yesterday. We woke up to sunshine and warmth, which soon became ominous clouds and very high winds as a storm bore down on us. I was outside in my garden around 12:30pm harvesting the last of my tomatoes and celery root, wearing just jeans and a sweatshirt. When I left the house an hour later, the temperatures had dropped drastically. By mid-afternoon it was snowing to the north, and when I left my studio after dark, the roads downtown were icy. I guess we can't have beautiful fall weather forever. Old Man Winter has finally arrived.

The weather sure changed quickly. Beautiful scenery.
I see you like that photo. You got it on the cover.
Tomás.
Tomás, the photo at the top of my blog was actually taken several years ago (on film, not even digital!). We have such a nice view here, I often go to that spot and take pictures. It's especially nice when there is snow on Pikes Peak :^)
We have had a beautiful warm day here in Toronto but the same wind is heading here tonight and the temps are heading down. No snow coming here though.
So beautiful.
I've heard the temps out west were dropping. Apparently it'll be doing the same here on Thursday.
Beautiful shot!
Great scenery with a beautiful contrast.
