The first of the month is Theme Day for City Daily Photo bloggers, and every month is different. This month the theme is what would you miss?, meaning what would I pine for if I had to move away from my city? There are many intangible things I would miss, like the great weather and the feeling of home. As far as things that can be communicated in a photograph, I'd have to say I'd miss Pikes Peak the most, especially when we get a sunset like the one we had January 24th. All I had to do was step outside my studio door to capture this, and I did nothing to enhance it in Photoshop. This is our view and I love it.

An incredible view and a great choice. My son was there when he visited his aunt in Colorado Springs and was really impressed.
We have a smallish mountain out at our rural retreat, I always think of it as my mountain. I guess you have the same sense of ownership of this beautiful peak.
What an incredible sunset Tamara, I would miss this too, what a sight to see when you step outside your door.

A beautiful capture of the mountain. I have no idea when I first heard of Pikes Peak, but I would love to visit and have a go at going up to the top.
