The Englewood Civic Center
Last Friday I was in Denver for a photo shoot, and afterward I had dinner with my friend Jennifer in Englewood (part of the Denver metro area). We took a few minutes to enjoy the large fountain at the Civic Center. Jenn told me that it was built on the grounds of the former Cinderella City Mall. I had no idea! I knew that Cinderella City had been torn down years ago and the land had been repurposed, but I didn't realize that this was it! Cinderella City was near and dear to my heart. When I was in high school, every fall my parents would drive my brother Chuck and me up to Denver to go shopping at Cinderella City for the new school year. There were SO MANY STORES. It was gigantic! I have fond memories of those shopping excursions.
There's a photographer in Denver who documented the empty mall in 1998, just before it was demolished. The images give me a pang. They're so... forlorn. You can see them HERE, if you're curious.

Life changes and ... many times to worse. In this case no.
Tomás.
Quite a lovely fountain. It's happened here, that a mall, or most of a mall, has been demolished. Retail changes, and some places can't keep up with it.
Nice looking fountain.
