Pat and I went to Mueller State Park, about a 30 to 40 minute drive from Colorado Springs, a couple of weeks ago. It was a perfect day for a hike. We brought our cameras to capture some fall colors. Such a lovely place!
This handy diagram at the visitors center lets you know the names of all the different mountains in the distance.
We randomly chose Homestead Trail for our hike. I guess this must be the homestead in question. Can you see it at the bottom of the frame?
Another view of it. Can you imagine staking your claim and making your home in this beautiful spot? The view across the valley from here, looking out from what would have been the front door of this cabin, is STUPENDOUS.
Tomorrow is Sunday Style of course, but I'll post more from Mueller State Park on Monday! Have a great weekend!

Interesting how nature reclaims like that... another hundred years and you wonder if there'd still be a trace of the homestead. Beautiful shots!
I particulary love the last one....
Kind regards,
Pierre
