Our last full day of vacation was spent at the Getty Museum in Los Angeles (for other photos from our trip, scroll through the past few posts). I have been wanting to check out the Getty ever since it was first built, so I was very excited to finally experience it. It did not disappoint! In addition to a fantastic art collection of course, the architecture and gardens could only be described as spectacular. And best of all, other than parking, the entire experience was free. We had a great time taking it all in, and of course I will go again, the next time I'm in L.A.!
Every square inch of the space is designed to give visitors a great visual experience.
The gardens were wonderful. I imagine they would be even better in May-June.
There is a sculpture garden at the bottom of the hill next to the parking garage. A short tram ride takes you up the incline to the museum.
This Henry Moore took my breath away. Gorgeous! I'm so glad we took time to stroll around the sculpture garden before leaving.
