As predicted, I had no time yesterday to get outside and take a picture for Theme Day! But I did have time to work on my California vacation pictures a little bit, so I'll share one of those instead. Here's an image from last Monday, when Pat and I decided to drive south through Orange County and on down to Encinitas. Our first stop was Trestles, a legendary local surf spot in San Clemente, where we were staying. This beached sailboat was hard to miss! (The name on the side of the boat was Waterwings, hence the title of this post.) We figured it was just bad seamanship that beached this poor craft, but our host Ethan postulated that it may have been stolen and used to transport drugs or illegal immigrants across the border, then unceremoniously dumped on the beach. Or maybe it really was just a bad sailor ;^)
Even though I missed out on participating this time, you should by all means check out the many Theme Day posts by City Daily Photo bloggers all over the world! This month's theme is "Where do you belong?". Click HERE to see them!

Rare to see them on shore- your potential explanations make sense.
