The first of every month is Theme Day for City Daily Photo bloggers, and this month's theme is the beauty of simplicity. It's really right up my alley, because I strongly tend to gravitate toward very simple compositions in my photographs (that is, when I'm trying to take a good photograph, anyway -- because I often take bad ones!). I went out with my camera a couple of times in the last few days, trying to take a patented "Tamera-style" photo, but was frustrated by the blah light and the fact that no particularly compelling subject matter presented itself. So I decided to just dig through my archives -- after all, I have countless serenely simple images that I've created over the many years that I've been doing photography! I didn't have to dig very far. These photographs were taken on my recent trip to California, about six weeks ago. In fact, I have several "bird in flight" images taken on this particular trip. (It's safe to say that I'm mildly obsessed with this particular subject.)
Since I couldn't decide which image was the stronger of the two for today's theme, I'll just post them both. For more beautifully simple photographs from bloggers all over the world, click HERE. (And since both of these photographs happen to be mostly sky, let's call this a Skywatch Friday post too!) Have a great weekend!

You've chosen well!
I love both of them! Birds are always a favorite of mine.
This is just perfect!
I live in California and spend a lot of time trying to capture those birds in flight. You did a great job. What part of California were these shots taken in?
Barbara I took these in Orange County. I believe the top photo was taken in San Clemente and the bottom one was taken in Dana Point (but don't quote me on that, I may have the actual cities wrong). :^)
Very pretty and perfect for the theme!
Perfect images for the theme, Tamera !
I like your choice. Great shots too.
Great shots. I especially like the B&W image
I like the first one, with the blue sky.
Gorgeous, both photographs!
