Pat and I had brunch at Bon Ton's yesterday, and the man seated at the next table had a parrot with him! Of course there was no way that I could ignore this beautiful bird. I had to strike up a conversation with the guy and get a picture for the blog! The bird is named Mr. Green, he's 28 years old and he's been with his human for a quarter of a century. Mr. Green is an eclectus parrot, which are native to the Solomon Islands, near Papua New Guinea. He's quite docile, even mellow, and in addition to that beautiful red mark, the undersides of his wings are a gorgeous cobalt blue. I've never seen such a colorful parrot up close!
