I know I always seem to be posting pretty pictures taken in Cheyenne Cañon and they look just like this, but believe it or not I took this photo at the hospital! Penrose Main, to be exact. I was there today to see my cardiologist (don't worry, I'm not dying, quite the opposite in fact!), and since I was a bit early for my appointment, I took a moment to explore their nice patio. It turned out to be dedicated to Glockner Sanatorium, which was the earliest incarnation of Penrose Hospital (we tend to informally call it Penrose Main because there is another Penrose Hospital in town), back when Colorado Springs was a major destination for tuberculosis treatment. I had no idea that Penrose Main had once been yet another sanatorium. You learn something new every day.
