If you're not familiar with Maynard Dixon, check him out HERE. He has that half elysian, half heroic, verging-on-illustration style so quintessential of the 1930s, and his color palette is just ravishing. Pat and I are in love with his beautiful way of articulating the western landscape, especially the sky and clouds, just like in this painting. It's ravishing, much better seen in person than an on-the-fly cell phone snap. And I know you can't tell the scale of it from this photo but it's a good sized work. Stumbling across it made my day.
