Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

Turkey Creek

The drive between Fort Carson and  Penrose is very pretty indeed. This area is called Turkey Creek, and believe it or not it's mostly owned by the U.S. government and used as an Army training ground. Yes, this is where they blow stuff up! You can't see the training area from the highway, but sometimes you can hear it. And it's not unusual to see helicopters doing maneuvers as you drive through here. In fact, moments after I took this picture, a Chinook (I think that's what it was) went past us nearly at eye level and prepared to land.
