Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

Another quick snap I took several days ago in Cheyenne Canon. I noticed this old tree trunk in the middle of the creek, and honestly I don't know how a tree could have even grown there! Certainly the water has nowhere else to go but here, so it's not like any time in the recent past this particular spot didn't have a stream flowing right over it. It's a mystery!

At some point the water might have been diverted, centuries ago?

Possibly, but this tree trunk isn't centuries old! At most it's a few decades old. This is a really narrow canyon and you have the creek going down it right next to the road, so there's no other place for the water to run. It's a mystery!
