Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

Seventeen Mile House Farm (Part 2)

More images of this old farm, which you can find on Parker Road in Arapahoe County, southeast of Denver. Seventeen Mile House Farm dates back at least 155 years and is really just there for show now. I think city dwellers must find it fun to visit, especially those who've never been on a farm of this vintage. As for me, my grandfather was a dairy farmer in northeast Wisconsin, and his barn, silo and milk house were from the same era. Unlike this one, Grandpa's barn had a gambrel roof. It still stands, actually, and I wish it was in lovely condition like this one is, but alas it is slowly decaying as time marches on. Anyway, it was nice to visit Seventeen Mile House Farm for the hour or two I was there, and nice to be reminded of childhood days on my grandparents' farm. More tomorrow.

That's a different kind of silo from what I'm used to.
