I rarely get political on my blog, but since it is my blog after all, I reserve the right! Here's a funny sign adorning my friend JB's front yard, and it expresses exactly how I feel about this jerk. But all joking aside, I'm filled with excitement and dread right now. Today is the day I've been waiting for since 2016: it's the day we vote Donald Trump out of office. Please, my fellow Americans, let's send this horrible, divisive, vain, petty, greedy, incompetent, lying, corrupt racist packing. I want to get a good night's sleep for the first time in four years. If you're voting in person today, please stay safe. Wear a mask, and I can't believe I have to say this, but be aware of anyone who might be armed or threatening violence. We must do our civic duty to save our republic from this terrible man and his insane supporters. Together we can do it! Vote Biden-Harris!

Speaking as a citizen of the world horrified at the direction your country has taken with four years of that repugnance, I heartily agree.
Yes, yes, yes, yes. And tonight we are keeping our fingers crossed. The day after your posted this, but it's still possible that things will be better. I hope so. Very much. I'm old, and none of what happens is going to affect me personally in the next 10 years, by which time I will likely be dead, but I do fear for the way things work in this country. I'm old enough to have grown up with some illusions about this country, tempered I hope by reality, but the last few years have brought those to a halt. It all seems "me and mine" as a philosophy. Whew. another deep breath.
Hope you don't get much nasty blowback from this.
I agree with both of you! Judith, your state nearly went blue, which is amazing! And anyone who ever leaves negative remarks on my blog (of any kind, not just political) gets their comment summarily deleted, so... it's all good!
Looks like Biden will win it now which is great news.
