Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

Monstrosity-ish

Pat and I have a habit of randomly driving around town to check in on neighborhoods where we've lived in the past, especially during our adolescent years. Long before we met, Pat lived in Rockrimmon (the northwest part of town) and I lived in Village Seven, where we found this humble abode a few days ago. When I was in high school, Village Seven was considered to be more or less the east side, but exponential eastward growth of the city over the last three decades has now made it more like central. It's a pretty big area that encompasses mostly middle class homes, with a few fancier digs in some spots. There were never any houses like this on on Avondale, however. That was always one of the more affluent streets but this house sticks out like a sore thumb. Clearly someone tore down one of the existing homes and put this in its place. What do you think of it? It's not my cup of tea, especially in a neighborhood that was built up in the late 1960s through the '70s.
