Next to the Japanese Garden at the Denver Botanic Gardens you'll find a little section dedicated to bonsai. They have quite a few beautiful specimens there. Did you know that bonsai can be hundreds of years old? I always thought it intriguing how the art of Japanese gardening, including bonsai, is meant to mimic nature but it's achieved in an extremely controlled way, quite the opposite of how Mother Nature prefers it. Nevertheless, the results are beautiful. If you're ever in Denver, put the Botanic Gardens on your list.
This one has been in training since 1980, but it's over 250 years old!

They look great. My brother is filling up his balcony in Barcelona with all sorts of plants, and he mentioned bonsai recently.
