Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

Beautiful Creature

I have opinions about our next door neighbor's trees, and not in a positive way. They're generally called Chinese elm or Siberian elm, and they are the scourge of our city. If you allow them even a little bit of a toehold they rapidly take over, and are almost impossible to get rid of -- they're nothing but giant weeds. Unfortunately Chinese elm are rampant around here, especially downtown (lots of slumlords who don't take care of their properties), and although we like Steve, his yard is a whole different matter. That said, his overabundance of trashy trees along our property line will occasionally attract an interesting visitor, like this guy. What a beautiful woodpecker.
