Happy New Year! It's not just the first day of the year, it's the first day of the month, which means it's Theme Day for City Daily Photo bloggers around the world. The January theme is, as always, Photo of the Year: my favorite or best blog image from 2022. I have to say, I didn't take any particularly spectacular photos for Colorado Springs Daily Photo last year, unfortunately, and to be honest I had to take a few long-ish breaks because I have been so focused on rebuilding Click Photography after taking a big hit thanks to the pandemic. Now that ship is slowly righting itself, which means I'm deluged with work, which also means that again, I'm having trouble keeping up with this little blog. Never fear, I have no plans on quitting, I'm finding ways to structure my life so that I'll have the time and energy to keep creating great content for you. So thank you, dear readers, for continuing to read this little labor of love year after year, even when I'm absent for days on end.
Anyway! Here's a lovely picture that I took in my backyard and blogged on June 14, 2022. A swallowtail butterfly, how pretty! I love that our bee and butterfly garden has now matured nicely and is doing its job of attracting wildlife. It's impossible to resist grabbing a camera and making pictures when such a beautiful creature stops by for a snack right outside our back door.

So pretty!! I’m ready for spring!
@Tanya I'm not ready for spring yet myself! This is the time of year when I finally get to breathe. Not only is summer a crazy time for photographers, I'm also an avid gardener and that takes up a lot of energy too during the warm months. So I'm glad to have a couple of months to just sleep! LOL!
Happy New Year!
Well chosen.
Glad your business is perking up after the slump, AND that you can have some rest time in the cold weather. Photos of your butterfly/bird/critter garden in the coming year will always be nice and you don't have to go far afield. Though I do love to see beautiful CO. Thanks for all your work.
Cool.
