This adorable cottage on Sheridan can be yours for a mere $635,000. Wow. I mean it's cute, but not that cute. A quick snoop through the listing tells me that in 2017, only six years ago, it went for $328,000, and in 2011 just $185,000.
Colorado Springs real estate is getting out of hand, and out of reach for many. I'm glad I bought my house in 1997 -- and it's now worth well over three times what I paid for it. I guess I'm glad of the equity, but not the property taxes, which have gone up a shocking amount for me in the last year. Is the price of housing as crazy in your city?

A lovely place.
Yes, from a small town in TX. The house I bought 12 years ago would be at least twice what I paid for it. (Used money from the previous house with acreage, with some left over.) Not very cheered up about that, as I'm old, and perhaps it would buy me a few years in assisted living if I sold. Ha. And my town is not very distinctive or attractive. Amazes me.
