Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

A day hike up a regional mountain

It's downright wrong that neither Pat nor I have ever climbed Mount Cutler, since it's a reasonably easy and quite popular hike. We decided to remedy the situation and gave it a go a couple of weekends ago. You can find the trailhead in Cheyenne Canon. The hike is only about two miles round trip. It's steep in sections, and near the top there's a spot where you really need to watch your step, but overall we didn't find it to be terribly strenuous, and besides, the view from the summit is worth the sweat!

Looking down from near the top, you get a good view of Seven Falls. There's not a lot of water in the falls this year, thanks to a historically dry winter.
At the summit, there's a nice big bench with this placque affixed to it.
The view from the bench. This hike was worth the effort! The light would normally be more dramatic than what you see in these pictures, and the visibility far more distant, but the entire region was covered in a haze that day from multiple wildfires burning in Colorado and other parts of the American west.
