Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. Las Vegas trip [Part 6]

On our last day in Vegas, I rented the Neon Museum (a.k.a. the Neon Boneyard) for one hour to do a fashion shoot, something that had been on my photography "bucket list" for quite a long time. I had a blast! I've always wanted to see the museum, let alone do a shoot there. As you can see, the building itself is a mid-century modern masterpiece. It's the former lobby of the long-defunct La Concha Motel, designed by Paul Revere Williams. Atomic era architecture at its finest!

If you've never heard of the Neon Museum, let me sum it up for you: it's where all the famous neon signs go when the old casinos and hotels are demolished to make way for the new. As you know, Las Vegas is always in a state of flux. It's constantly being torn down and rebuilt. It would be a pity if the old signs were destroyed, so the museum was created to house them. The Neon Museum does guided tours, so if you're ever in Vegas and want to see the collection, all you need to do is get in contact with them HERE and reserve your spot.

Pat took a lot of the pictures in this post. I was busy shooting my model Christine, so the only time I had to wander around and take a few snapshots of the signs was when she was changing her clothes. I'll have to go back there the next time I'm in Vegas so I can enjoy the collection without the distractions of a photo shoot. A very cool place!
