Olden Days of Yore, or Some Such

Despite the inclement weather, I actually found myself in Red Rock Canyon this afternoon with a client, hiking around, or location scouting to be more precise, with umbrellas in hand. I did snap off a couple of shots but had no time to deal with them tonight, so here's a nugget from Ye Olde Archyves: Glen Eyrie Castle on December 7, 2008, when this blog was but a baby.

The Golden Hour in Red Rock Canyon

Yes I was there again recently, this time to do some couples portraits. It was just the right moment of the evening to capture golden light on the impressive rock formations. Lovely!

Fearless

Lots of climbers take advantage of the vertical wall faces at Red Rock Canyon, like this guy who blithely scaled a huge rock formation last Saturday without a second thought. I have a dread fear of heights. This sport is definitely not for me.

Red Rock Canyon in Summer (Part 1)

I was at Red Rock Canyon Open Space last week to do some maternity portraits, and while I was at it I took a few pictures for the blog. Talk about natural beauty! Here's the big rock formation that borders the pond there. So pretty.

Apologies for the uninspiring picture today, although I do like the tip of Pikes Peak on the left there, peeping over the big rock formation. This isn't the Garden of the Gods, it's Red Rock Canyon Open Space, and I was there last month to do some family portraits. Most of the time when I'm working I forget to take pictures for the blog, and this day was no different -- I took this picture merely as an exposure test.

I wanted to show off Pikes Peak on the blog this weekend, but unfortunately the light was no good today and there was no chance of getting a decent picture of it. Luckily, in my archives I found this nice snap that I took on December 12th in Red Rock Canyon. Even though there's a ton more snow on the mountain now, this is still a nice moment.

I had a busy day and an even busier evening, so there wasn't time for me to go out and take any pictures for the blog. Thankfully I have this nice shot taken on a hike in Red Rock Canyon on December 12th. You can really tell that it was once a quarry.

I went for a hike in Red Rock Canyon a couple of weeks ago with my friend Joy, and I brought my camera with me. I'm going to put the blog on mute somewhat for the next few days, since it's Christmas week and things are hectic for me (I'm sure some of you are busy, too), so please forgive me if my next few posts are short on words.
