Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

Sledding With a View

There a scenic pull over spot just on the other side of Hagerman Pass, which gives you the view I shared in yesterday's post. This shot is facing 180° in the other direction. The only other people there yesterday sharing the vista with us with were these three, who chose what must be one of the most scenic sledding hills in Colorado. Imagine cruising down this slope with the majestic, snow covered Collegiate Peaks right in front of you!

Recharging

Life has been excessively stressful the last couple of months. Not to get into personal stuff, but I've had more life upsets since mid-December than I care to deal with in a normal year, let alone two short months. To make things worse, because of these stressors I haven't had much time to get out to the mountains. Finally, yesterday we managed to just get in the car, point it westward, and drive, drive, drive. We got as far as Guanella Pass before we had to turn around. The view was 1000% gorgeous the entire way, and we both felt a lot better by the time we got home. There's nothing like a meander through the mountains to recharge your batteries. Here are the Collegiate Peaks from just beyond the summit of Wilkerson Pass.

January 2022 Theme Day: Picture of the Year

Happy New Year! It's the first day of the month, which means Theme Day for City Daily Photo bloggers. In January we always make it the previous year's best/favorite photo. I can't say that I took any truly standout pictures for the blog last year (I was working so much that I just didn't have as many opportunities that I would've had otherwise), but I do kind of like this dramatic image that I captured of the Collegiate Peaks on May 2nd. For more Pictures of the Year from CDP bloggers all over, please check out our portal HERE.

Here's wishing you a great 2022. The last couple of years have been hard on all of us. Take good care and remember to be kind!

Ansel Adams, Step Aside

Just kidding! I don't think I'm ready to take up wall space at the Met quite yet, but I have to admit that I like this dramatic photo I took of the Collegiate Peaks last weekend.

Untitled

On June 28th, Pat and I took an impromptu road trip to Salida and were rewarded with a spectacular sunset as we cruised past the Collegiate Peaks toward Buena Vista. This was the view from the passenger seat, dirty windshield and all.
