Welcome to Colorado Springs Daily Photo!

Hi, I'm Tamera, a professional wedding, portrait and boudoir photographer in Colorado Springs. But this blog isn't about my professional work; no, it's a daily love note to my beautiful city, where I've lived for most of my life. I love it here and I hope you enjoy seeing Colorado Springs through my eyes and lens!

Selfie-ish

I've featured eXe by Michael Shewmaker on this blog before (HERE), so consider this more of a self portrait instead. Can you see me reflected in the giant X? I'm wearing jeans and a pale yellow sweater.

Happy Birthday to Me (2022)

When I first started this blog in 2008, I got into the habit of posting a self portrait every year on my birthday. In recent years I fell out of the practice but I think it's time I revived it. Tuesday was my birthday; here's a self portrait I took on November 26, 2022 downtown with my cell phone.

April 2015 Theme Day: My Camera Shy Self-Portrait

The first of each month is Theme Day for City Daily Photo bloggers. This month's theme is my camera shy self-portrait. Normally we blog something about our respective cities on Theme Day (as we do every day). It's rare that we turn the camera onto ourselves for our readers! I have a long, long history of taking self-portraits, but in the last year or two I've become a little more obsessed with the idea of it -- not in a vain, "selfie" kind of way, but in a more introspective sense. It's been sort of a lifelong self-study. True to form, here are three camera shy self-portraits that I produced for today's theme in the last couple of weeks. The first photo was taken in a gyros shop downtown, the second in Monument Valley Park, and the third was taken at the Fine Arts Center.

This shot was set up by me and taken by Pat.
I am in the center of the square. Pat is on the left. Between us is a large sculpture.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! It's the first of the month, which means it's Theme Day for City Daily Photo bloggers, and it's the first of the year, which means the theme is Photo of the Year! Last year, that is. And, like every year, I can never narrow it down to just one image, so here are 13 of my favorites from 2014. Not all of these were taken in Colorado Springs or even in Colorado (like my absolute favorite, at the top of this post -- it was taken in San Clemente, California), but I don't think that's any kind of criteria to judge by, so please enjoy these photos that were taken all over in the last 12 months.

You can find many other fascinating Photo of the Year posts from City Daily Photo bloggers all over the world by clicking right HERE. I hope you had a wonderful New Years celebration! Wishing you all the best in 2015! Tamera

Self portrait

Well hello there! I couldn't resist an opportunity to photograph myself in this doorway in Casper, Wyoming.

A portrait of the artist

Today's my birthday so I'm going to break the rules and do two blog posts. Oh the nerve!

Here's a self portrait that I took about half an hour ago over by the Colorado College. I'm taking the rest of the day off. Cheers everyone!
